The Science of the COVID-19 Vaccine Webinar

Join us on October 28, 2021 (6-7 pm AST) for this upcoming webinar entitled “The Science of the COVID-19 Vaccine: The Role of the University“. 


This webinar seeks to to explain to a Caribbean audience the science of the COVID-19 vaccination detailing the origins of the vaccine, the innovation it has introduced, and the multiple disciplines that came into play in its creation; to showcase and chronicle how a Caribbean born and educated son was able to ascend to the heights of his field and play a key role in the creation of a vaccine that has saved millions of lives and spawned a new age in vaccinology and to highlight the Caribbean’s experience and potential in contributing to cutting edge science, and interrogate the role of the University in spearheading the region’s bio-medical and scientific revolution.


Our distinguished panelists are Mr. Vidia Roopchand (Principal Research, Pfizer), Prof. Clive Landis (Principal of The UWI Cave Hill) and Dr. Tomlin Paul (co-lead, Pfizer H3E Caribbean). The event will be moderated by Dr. Jeanese Badenock (Dean, Faculty of Science and Technology, The UWI Cave Hill).
